Viewing a 2021 fiesta 1.0 ecoboost hybrid mhev 125

Featured Replies

Hi

going to a dealer tomorrow to have a look at a low mileage car, done 17k miles. Any help in what to look at please? Is this engine a quiet one? Should there not be a rattles?

No experience of the fiesta sorry, so any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks Chris

No really,

Just check for full service history

Obvious abuse and damage

Accident repairs

Go for a test drive to ensure all the gears fully engage when warm

Seems to be a luck of the draw thing. Both my current and previous Fiestas have been rattle free, but other members have reported various rattles particularly door cards/speakers.

Similarly with the engine. Potential "wet belt" issues aside, I found the original ecoboost engine smoother and quieter than MHEVs I've test driven, other members report differently.

So as Dave suggests, try and get it nice and warm on your test drive and see what you think.

No need to haggle. They always throw in a couple of rattles and a few squeaks for free  🤣

Thanks it's been a long time, wasn't sure if dealers still did? I have no part ex if that helps?

Main dealers haven't really accepted haggling for the past 5 years or so.  Especially if you're paying by cash.  Margins on used cars are actually quite small.  Most of the money comes from servicing and finance nowadays.

Saying that, it's the second worst time of year for car sales, no new plates for a few months and everyone's spent their cash booking a summer holiday, so there's no harm in trying a haggle.
