Remote Key Fob not working

Fiesta 2017 - remote/keyless entry and start

I have replaced battery so definitely not that.

Can open door with key blade and start the engine holding the fob next to the steering wheel.

No key entry point on steering wheel so cannot reset that way

Any ideas?

If neither the remote buttons or the keyless start work then there's a problem with the PCB.

Either it's not getting any voltage.  If the battery is definitely good (new ones can still be bad) then it may not be making good contact with the battery terminals inside.

Otherwise the PCB is likely to be damaged...has the fob been dropped or gone through the wash or anything lately?

(PS - This is the Focus section of the forum.  Hopefully a mod will move it to the Fiesta section.)

Point often overlooked in diagnosing fob issues. The battery needs to be pushing out 3.3v, once it gets to 3v, starts to cause issues. Once you diagnose a 'good' battery, then follow the procedure of what Tom suggests, he's much cleverer than me!

If I had a £1 for every fob that a customer said didn't work after putting new battery for me to find it's in upside down. I would be a bit richer than I am

 🤣🤣🤣

Also - some batteries have a peelable safety sticker which can leave a residue, so ensure all trace of this is removed with a solvent if necessary.

Does anyone else wonder with these single posts about keyfobs where we never hear again, that they've gone back, turned the battery the right way up, got it to work, and sink away with embarrassment? 🤣
