2003 Fiesta LX flexible gear cable issue

Featured Replies

I normally work on my DeLorean, don't flame me lol

Today,I did a good samaritan act for a buddy of mine. His Ford Fiesta had a gearstick  that wouldn't select gear.
Turned out that the flexible cable going to the gear selector shaft had popped off. There was nothing that had come loose, so I had no means of making the cable captive.
3 tie wraps later, and it was back on the road driving to Cwmbran Ford,  who told us that we would have to replace 2 cables.. £300+ pounds.
I have an idea that could permanently fix it, but would like to hear from you guys.

Is there a repair kit for this, or do Ford just provide a captive fitting?

Cheers

Spud

A LHD  DeLorean not something you often see in the UK 😀

They were all manufactured as LHD. Around 10 or so we're then converted to rhd as a feasibility study before liquidation.
