Recently changed my 2.0 diesel Focus for a 2020 Ecoboost Fiesta ActiveX and I'm very happy with it,there's one question I want to ask about the dial for the lights as everytime I start mine the dial is in the auto lights position, is this a default setting, I've looked in the online handbook but can't find an answer.

    It is now the law that the switch must always default to Auto Lights.

    The online manual doesn't make this very clear, unfortunately. It does though, give an important warning about daytime fog which can really catch the system out.

    WARNING   WARNING:  The system does not relieve you of your responsibility to drive with due care and attention. You may need to override the system if it does not turn the headlamps on in low visibility conditions, for example daytime fog.
     
    Autolamps turn the headlamps on in low light situations or when the windshield wipers operate.
