Replacing wet belt on Fiesta ecosport

Featured Replies

I am no car expert but a few months ago my partner bought me a second hand Ford fiesta with a 1.0 litre ecosport engine. It is a 2018 model and has done 52,000 miles.
The car only has had fairly regular services but not yearly and not always done by Ford. It was last serviced before my partner purchased it (again not by Ford).

I am a bit concerned now because I’ve heard about the issues these cars are having with the wetbelts. I have been considering replacing all the belts, water pump, strainer, oil and filters etc and then having the car regularly serviced by Ford going forward. Having contacted two Ford approved garages I’ve been quoted £1599 and £1680 all in for this to be done.

I just wanted to see what other people’s opinions are on this? I don’t know whether to wait a bit longer because the mileage is fairly low. But then again I drive this car with my young son a lot, so it’s the safety aspect I’m most concerned about. I love everything else about the car. Thanks for any input.
