I am currently having this very same issue with ford focus 2014 1ltr zetec s ecoboost (80761 on the clock). I have had the MAF sensor replaced and the boost sensor and the vacume pump valve on separate occasions. Mechanic test drove it all good. I drove home 12miles (motorway) comes on as I slow down at the lights the "engine malfunction service now" message comes on again (no Amber light) turn off and on and it resets. 

 

Did you find the reason for it happening?

I can't see it being the same problem with a Ecoboost 1.0

Yes I agree it may not be the same problem because it's a diesel, I've spent hours/days trying to look online to sort it. This is the first one I've seen come even close to the same as mine.

 

Just thought it was worth an ask, becasue I don't want have to replace every thing I've found for it to still be there, like a lot of others are have same issue.

Have you used FORScan to check and read any DTC's ? 🤔
