2015 mk7 DAB radio into 2009 car? Patch lead help please

Featured Replies

Hi. Firstly, a massive apology if this has been answered before and I've missed it while searching in this forum. I would like some help with making up a patch lead...

I've got a 2009 pre-facelift Fiesta which has the original non-DAB radio with Bluetooth and looks like this:

and it has two "old style" sockets on the back like this:

A few months ago I bought a newer version of the radio recovered out of a 2015 Fiesta with DAB and a newer screen (allegedly with blue text) which looks like this:

and it has two different sockets on the back like this:

I've bought the appropriate two plugs and two sockets to make up some sort of patch lead but I cannot find a wiring diagram or pin out description that covers both sockets on both units. I have seen a colourful and very useful diagram showing how to make a patch lead to connect the two old style sockets to a newer and physically larger 24 pin plug but there doesn't seem to be any information on what the smaller 26 pin socket is for and what connects to it?

I know I've got to add a DAB aerial + amp but that feels fairly straightforward.

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers, Dean

You need help from @Rowan112 but he's not very often here these days.
