2006 Fiesta 1.4 clicking noise in engine bay

Featured Replies

My wife’s Fiesta has a fairly loud clicking noise coming from the engine bay. It is not continuous and sounds like a tick tock of a valve or switch opening and closing. Not related to road speed or engine revs

any ideas?

any ideas?

Not a lot to go on.... try to narrow down which area of the engine bay it appears to be coming from

It is difficult to narrow down but I think it is coming from the inlet plenum.

I will try to record it tomorrow

Just been out to record the sounD but failed to find a tool to record it without it being too big.
although not all lost as when I started the car it was blasting cold air so I switched air con off. The sound disappeared and came back when I switched it back on

so what could be making a clicking sound
