Charger type for Calcium plus Ford fitted batteries.

Featured Replies

Apparently my car has a Calcium plus battery. I have bought a smart charger that may not be suitable. Does anyone know a suitable type.

Just use the AGM setting on your charger.

That's interesting.  I just use the normal setting for EFB or Calcium as they're both effectively lead-acid.

I guess the AGM setting won't do any harm, but would be interested to know if the normal setting does.

The EFB setting should work fine but it's maximum voltage output is a little lower (14.9V ?). The Calcium batteries should be charged with a voltage up to 17V which is closer to what the AGM setting gives. Of course that really only matters much if the battery SOC is very low.
