Hi took my car to the garage and they said it had a random misfire can anyone help me out or no what would be causing it they think injectors on timing is out but I had belt done 7 months ago and car has been fine until week ago

If it's a random misfire that sounds like an injector.

Timing is fixed on these so it can only be right all the time or wrong all the time.

Will need to have further diagnosis to work out which injector is faulty though.  They're too expensive to just replace all of them without testing.

But all injectors r working fine what I don't understand

Ever since I was driving alone and something come off a open Lory carrying rubble and went under the car I have this problem with the car cutting out and now with random misfirer

Diesels only need fuel & compression to ignite.  So a random misfire can only be caused by a fuelling problem.  Either there's a bit of air getting into the fuel lines or one of the injectors is dodgy and not supplying exactly the right amount of fuel.  (They can be heavily worn and still work alright under most conditions).

As you say something went under the car, have you had it up on a ramp to check for any signs of impact underneath?  One of the fuel lines might have been knocked or cracked slightly, just enough to let air in, but not fuel out.

Has the fuel filter been replaced recently?

No I haven't no yet would I b able to tell by jacking up and looking

Probably not unless you lay right underneath.  Any crack in the pipes or any loose connectors will be hard to see unless you get really close to them, probably need a light as well.

There may be a fuel cooler under the drivers side (looks like a tiny radiator) so worth checking to see whether that got bent by whatever went under the car.

If you do go under it obviously make sure it's not going to fall.

Got fuel lines and cooler checked and all good so I'm still lost soon as it got hot the revs started going up and down when idle and it cuts out

And not have any fault codes to help me out

Are you using Forscan or just a generic OBD reader?

Don't think they r using forsan

That's probably why there aren't any codes then.

Ford specific codes can't be read by generic OBD tools.
