Air con compressor clutch no engaging on ford

My grandson's fiesta 2004 air con is not getting cold have topped up gas still not getting cold on checking the compressor it seems the clutch in it is not engaging haven't checked fuse or relay yet is there anything else that can be checked.

    If it was a more modern car, I'd suggest checking the battery voltage and that it's charging OK as if not, A/C is often effected, however, a 1995 version I don't think was that stupid! More intelligent folk will be along shortly...
