L plate size

Featured Replies

The mandatory size of L plates is well documented including the size of the letter L.  The Fiesta Mk7/7.5 tailgate doesn't have enough steel area for a magnetic plate.  What if I were to trim the size of the white area of the plate on a white car?

It's a technicality but surely with white -on-white, what difference can it make?  Am I likely to be pulled up by the law I wonder?

Probably not. There would be no money in it for them, unlike speeding !

However if you were to use the car for a driving test, then the examiner would be quite within their rights to fail you before the test even began.
