Ford Fiesta Titanium 2010 - Bluetooth help

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I know this has been asked before, but I've been through all of the existing posts and none have solved my problem. I recently bought a used Ford Fiesta Titanium 2010. It definitely has Bluetooth as it's an option in the menu and is also mentioned in the handbook, which says that it should be possible to bond up to 6 devices.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to get this to work at all. When I go to the Bluetooth, it only lists what I assume is the previous owner's phone (see attached image). I can select "debond" and "yes" but then it simply goes back to the same screen and nothing happens. It also doesn't seem to be actively detecting any new phones, we've tried with 3 different older and newer models. When I go to the Bluetooth settings screens and try to deselect Bluetooth to turn it off, that doesn't work either - the tick mark indicating that it's on just comes right back.

Following the advice online I have located the Audio/Bluetooth fuse (#21 in the handbook) and have taken it out and put it back in numerous times, with and without the engine running. While the fuse is out no audio is available so it's definitely the correct one, but it hasn't changed anything re the Bluetooth.

If anyone has any further ideas that I can try at home, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Jo

Disconnect the negative lead of the vehicle battery for 20 minutes.

Reconnect the battery and wait 5 minutes before turning on the ignition. This will reboot the audio and bluetooth systems. It should then be possible to debond the old phone and to add yours.

Thank you so much - will give that a try!

From what I know ref my new (2015) Fiesta, garage owner had to delete all previous connections, then and only then would mine pair,

This Synch is absolutely muck in comparison to any other car Bluetooth connection I've encountered,

Even today it wouldn't pair immediately, maddening,

Hope U get sorted

I'm sorry to hear that - thanks for sharing your experience. Can I please ask how did the garage owner manage to delete all previous connections? Thanks!

Roll back the Bluetooth profile. It was updated on Android 11/12. Affects all Bluetooth devices older than 5 years old. Easy to do on Android devices but not possible on Apple devices. Google "Android Bluetooth AVRCP profile" follow the instructions, takes a few minutes

Update - finally got someone to do this for me (I didn't have the right tool at home) and IT WORKED! Bluetooth is perfect now. Thank you so much, you have saved me so much hassle and a trip back to the dealership x
