map sensor. 2012 1.6 ti-vct

Featured Replies

hi all i have a mk3 ti-vct 1.6  which is running a little rich, my cheap scanner shows the map sensor reading of 99kps all the time, what ever the driving conditions or revs. thinking this is the problem but it doesn't seem to be on the inlet manifold, or if it is i cant see it. any help would be appreciated.

Get rid of that Cheap scanner. Download onto a laptop a copy of Forscan.  It's as damn close to what Ford use themselves.

Search on this forum for Forscan. Within you'll find how to use it, where to get it and what OBD lead you need.

Cheap scanners are exactly that. CHEAP szhitt.

If anyone can tell you where it is it will be @TomsFocus

For your own benefit you would be wise to use FORScan, as it will give you the full Ford specific DTC's that even very expensive code readers can't. Below is a post giving the 3 options on how to connect

FORScan (for use with Windows Laptop) : https://forscan.org/download.html

It's what many Ford owners use including some Ford technicians.

The 1.6 Ti-VCT doesn't have a MAP sensor fitted at this age.

......and that would be the reason that the OP can't find it 👍

Thanks Tom for clearing this up.
