Adding a jack to the old stereo (no AUX)

Featured Replies

has anyone done that ?

Its the old no AUX stereo type, so I would really fancy to have my music be playing in that system, so I see that I have to do some welding, so was wondering if anyone has clear info&practice on that ?

is something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAUTDKaX5jg , but with a CD player instead of tape - problem is that I dont understand Turkish and not too easy with the electronic stuff

Hi mate just get one of those transmitters that plug into your cigarette lighter then the radio picks up the frequency. You can then just play you tube music from your phone.. they’re about 4 quid from China

I concur, those devices are dead cheap now, and allow you to stream from your phone on to a spare FM channel. I actually changed the head unit on mine that had the 'AUX' button, it was only £20 on Ebay...

@gatesyardgarage for the lighter transmitter I heard someone saying its crap quality, but since its cheap, I'll give it a try

@StephenFord - even the one with the AUX, needs to be taken out and install a bluetooth adapter somehow (there are some YT vids)

Would have been useful if you'd stated initially that you wanted BluTooth LOL

If your head unit is similar, you just need an AUX cable as below which plugs into head unit rear, to allow your phone to plug in. Cable is sub £10, easy to install...

I know LOL I was suggesting that if you did replace the head unit with an AUX button, it's easy to add the appropriate cable...

Up to you buddy, from start to finish, swapping over head unit and installing an AUX cable will be no more than 10 minutes. All literally plug&play. Still, it's your car...

I think its not the same connectors... so not plug'n'play
