Featured Replies

Hello Everyone!

I'm working on a 1988 Ford Escort XR3i.

This XR3i is peeing coolant https://www.instagram.com/p/C-YJoAGCMFx/?igsh=YmtlbGJjMmU3Y3N4

Can this be repaired or do I need to replace the offending part!?

(what is the part!!??)

Thank you and please forgive my ignorance!

I'm an aircooled VW mechanic I'm lost on water!!!

(forgive me!!! my first car was a 1980 two door mushy pea green mk2 Escort! FUW 858V wonder if its still alive??)

Thanks very much

all the best

Chris

That looks like the thermostat housing.  (May also be called a coolant manifold or similar).

The leaking part is a core plug, so that is replaceable if you can find one the exact correct size.
