But how hard do u have u push the pipe in. I've tried leverage with a bar, small toffee hammer, by hand, by hand with a cloth. 

 

It won't go in.

Update all done. Had a mate come round and putting the previous nut on lead to tension when clipping in the pipe. 

Taking off the previous nut helped loads and all done.

The union nut we put on until the nut stopped turning as didn't want that to leak. We knew the pipe was in coz the bracket touched the bolt hole..

Is that ok. Just bit worried.
