Hi All,

I've recently bought a 2017 1.5 ecoboost and noticed when if rain's the roof lining in the boot is wet and rug that is in boot is wet.

I've noticed rust in the corner of the panoramic glass roof and the roof channel water runs in is a low point therefore a small amount of water will sit trapped.

Also can see rust under the glass

I've attached some photos.

Anyone else got the same problem and noticed the design fault!

I'm still thinking about the best way of fixing the problem 🙄

That does look bad for a sub 10 year old car.

Fords do cone with a 10 year corrosion warranty so I'd definitely get them to look at it and see if they'll accept a warranty claim.  (Probably not but never know if you don't ask).

12 year paint warranty doesn't cover the rust as it's on the outside not the coming from the inside!

Local agent has never seen anything like it but cannot help apart from suggesting painting some rust cure on it and offered some touch up paint!!

Hi....did you manage to get anywhere with this issue? I've just bought a 2018 S-Max with no rust showing yet but there's bare metal/paint flaked off in the same areas so I want to address it before it gets any worse.
