Battery

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a fiesta ecoboost 123 on a 64 plate which needs a new battery. Any recommendations would be welcomed.

Thanks

Dicko.

Got mine from Halfords (own brand) and it's been absolutely fine. Always bought from there as they seem to last a very long time.

Halfords don't make batteries btw.  They're just rebranded Yuasa batteries.  Which is also the brand most recommended on here nowadays.

Thanks for the replies. Can you remember how much it cost?

Thanks

Any ideas if this battery OK for stop/start.

Cheers

Dicko

I assume that this symbol on the Tayna web site means that it is not.

Need the EFB version for stop/start.

I take it that's why that battery is half rhe price of batteries I've been quoted?

Cheers

The EFB battery should be less than £100. @unofix do you know which stop/start battery fits a 2014 Fiesta Zetec S EcoBoost 125 please?

As above, should still be under £100.  I don't know the dimensions for Fiesta so can't commit to an exact Yuasa part number myself.

What do you get if you put your reg in here? https://www.tayna.co.uk/

If it gives you a choice of batteries then select the Yuasa one.

Edit to add:

Its probably going to be this one, but I don't know your registration number so I can't take responsibility if I have it wrong:

£90.57 delivered.

You need the YBX7027 for Stop/Start.

Well unofix and I both picked the same battery independently so I recon you should be good to go. 😀

The dimensions of the battery are different, the height of my battery is 174 mm rather than 190 mm. The negative lead would reach but the positive lead would be a problem as it is rather tight as it is.

Thanks

Dicko.

16mm difference, I would be very surprised if there is not enough play in the cables to fit that. I'm not going out to look at my Fiesta today as its absolutely hissing down here at the moment.

Yes about 1/2 inch difference and it is listed as the battery for diesel Fiesta's.

Having just checked a few random registrations of similar age and specification Fiesta's found on AutoTrader, the battery is listed as fitting. The height measurement of batteries is often misleading, some measure just to the terminal post, and others to the very top of the case.

The equivalent to the Halfords one is YBX7100.

Hi all,

I got in touch with tanya and ask for their advice on which battery I needed thus is what they suggested.

After sending the dimensions and pictures of my current battery they recommended this.

Screenshot_20250915_150345_SamsungInternet.thumb.jpg.a200ec90ffbf1a27b0b503cc530f53ca.jpg

It's the exact same dimensions, so I've ordered it and it should arrive within 2/3 days. So fingers crossed its suitable.

Thanks

Chris.

I bought a similar Exide battery nearly 4 years ago.  Sat in a car boot for 3 years.  Fitted this year and still going well.  So my personal experience is that Exide make a decent battery.
