Got a panic text from a neighnour whose daughter's car wouldn't start this morning. Popped over with my trusty Sealey jump starter, now well over 15 years old, connected to battery, started 1st time despite the starter sitting in garage for 12+ months uncharged. I feel another Maypole recommendation being made LOL

Noco GB20 - whilst I'm here is this jump starter any good? I want to buy my neighbor one as a gift. (They have been very good to me with a recent illness) He has 3 x cars and knows absolutely nothing about them, just need something that works and is reliable, no fancy features!!

I've got the higher capacity GB 40 (as recommended by @TomsFocus ) but fortunately haven't had to use it yet. Only useful comments I could make so far is it seems pretty robust, appears to be easy to use and holds a charge for a surprisingly long time.

Quite a few comparisons/reviews on line like this: https://litecomparison.com/noco-gb20-vs-gb40/

At the time I bought mine the 40 was only a few pounds more than the 20, but the difference on Amazon now is over £25 I think.

I believe Tom has actually used his so will no doubt comment when he spots this.

I must have used mine 20+ times now.  I'm still amazed by it every time.   How something so small can start even a 2.0 diesel with ease.

Mine is the GB40 as Roger says.  That's 1000A, so double the GB20.  I don't know how much difference that makes in the real world.

Yes they seem good for starting most petrol engines and small diesel (1.5 and under).

For larger diesel engines you really need the GB40.
