Rowans 2002 1.4 Zetec Project

Featured Replies

Hello all.

I rather unexpectedly came into the ownership of this rather fine mk1 Focus.

I have always had a soft spot for these and I am very happy to now have one of my own! I started this topic to share my build with everyone as it progresses.

This is how the car looks currently:Messenger_creation_3EB289D4-2429-45F4-905F-F8D164ED5F21.jpeg

To do list:

  • Aux belt

  • Power steering pipe

  • A few bulbs

  • Exhaust

  • A small amount of welding on the sills

I am hoping this car will be a good first project and I look forward to seeing it develop.

I will also include a photoshop I made to get a visual on the final look I am aiming for:Untitled19_20260131232600.png

I shall report back with another update soon!

Completely forgot I was on this forum.

Unfortunately, the blue Focus was worse than I thought in terms of rust and has now been sent off to race.

I am now eyeing up a 2004 1.8TDCI to scratch that MK1 itch...

Are the early Mondeo wheels in your image suitable for the Mk1 hubs?

I have some later 5 stud Mondeo wheels on my Mk2 Focus which were compatible.

The mondeo mk2 zetec alloys are only 4 stud and fit the mk1 / 1.5 focus perfectly fine. I had them on my mk1 estate and now sit on my mk7 escort 🫡
