2017 Galaxy Outdoor temp Sensor

Featured Replies

Hi all, I did use the search function but there was only one result!

does anyone know where the outdoor temperature sensor is? It’s generally stuck at 14c but will go up to 20c and rarely shows the actual temperature.

Also could this affect the AC systems and other systems? When it’s working the AC system works as normal (blows cold air) but when it goes high it doesn’t work and the dashboard displays “engine on due to outside temperature” and deactivates the StartStop.

Thanks

James

Check passenger door mirror. Usually a little nodule on the underside.

Some have a sensor at the front just below the rad'. But start at the mirror.

Thanks for the reply, they were the first places I checked, under the wing mirrors is just the puddle lamps and I did have a good look around the grill area but didn’t see anything unless it’s located behind the active shutter grill?

🤔 I was convinced it would be under the mirror.

Doubt it would be behind the shutter. I'm also wondering would different sensors be for different circuits ?

My thinking is a sensor at the front would pick up cooler air than one fitted higher up at the side. Just a thought ?

Very late reply been a busy few months m, found the outdoor temp sensor is located (when looking at the car from the front) to the left of the lower active shutter grill!

It wasn’t my issue btw! Water had got in the front loom and and had managed to “pool” in a connector, causing and causing issues when the front parking sensors activated!
