This is my first post. Is this the right place for this question:

I notice in many posts members refer to a MK number, eg Focus MK2 or TDCI MK3.5

My Ford Focus is a 2010 model (60 plate) so what MK is it.

This is so that I know what to specify and how to phrase a search in future.

It is most likely a Mk2.5.

Though Mk3 production started in 2010, so reg plate is not a totally reliable test.

Most likely a Mk 2 facelift (aka Mk 2.5) as.Tom says. I had one on a 60 plate. Have a look at Wikipedia - pics on there will confirm what you have:

Tip - best way to be 100% sure with queries like this is to include a pic of your actual car.

Changeover of models does cause confusion - when the Mk 2.5 was superseded by the Mk 3 sales of existing Mk 2.5 stock carried on into 11 plate.

Similar thing occurred with the Mk 1 to Mk 2. My brother in law bought a new Mk 1 months after the Mk 2 was in the showrooms.

Would the vehicle identification number tell which MK it is?

That is a Mk2.5.

Visual test is always the best way to confirm marks. Although I could have used the VIN to confirm if a picture wasn't available.

Thanks to all who helped identify my car. My main reason for asking is that my Focus Mk2.5 is due for a major service plus a few things that need repair or replacement. Now that I know what model I have I'll post details on a seperate post to ask for advice. Thanks again
