Ad Blue Malfunction

Featured Replies

Thanks to the people on this forum, my last post was regarding an ESC Warning. New ABS sensor and all fixed.

It's now decided to flag up "Ad Blue malfunction, service required" followed by " No engine start in 500 miles"

It clears off the screen quite quickly but leaves the engine management light on...... Any suggestions please

Welcome (again?)
Whilst, as a random person, I don't have this system I'd ask:
Is the AdBlue tank empty?
Are you using the anti-crystallising additive?
What is the detailed code behind that alert (Forscan)?
Is the nozzle blocked or some other fault in the tank system?

It means Top up the AdBlue Tank or in 500 miles the car will stop and not restart.

Thanks for the replies but this warning came up after I'd filled up the AdBlue tank. I had the normal warning to remind me I was due for a top-up which was done and the "Blue" gauge shows three quarter full.

You need the fault codes read with Ford specific diags. Either use Forscan yourself or take it to a dealer. Independent garage software may not show all Adblue related codes.

Soooo. According to a Ford garage I need a new AdBlue injector to cure this fault. They quoted me £200, don't know if this is the going rate. Anyone have any ideas on costing?

Sounds about right.

Use anti crystalliser in the ad blue tank to prevent further issues.

I use wynns anti crystal in mine
