I was changing the filter 2 days ago. There was a bracket just lying there. I quickly found where it fitted and replaced it. It slides onto a plastic pin on one side (perhaps blower housing) and bolts to filter door at the other side. It cannot be a stay because it can move too freely on the plastic pin.

Anybody know the purpose of that "stay"?

Btw. For the sake of 2 minutes, removing the glovebox is a no brained when replacing the cabin filter.
