Whistle/ beeping sound at over 2000 rpm

Featured Replies

I'm reaching out for any advice or help with an issue, please.

I have a 2014 2.0 TDI Galaxy on 86000 miles, which has developed a whistle-beeping sound at around 2000 rpm and above.

It's been in the garage, and they have conducted a smoke test for leaks in the exhaust/manifold system, and they have also tested the boost pipes, etc., with no leakages found. Interestingly, when the rear back box is removed, the noise goes away. (Could it be something to do with back pressure?) But as I said, no leakages in the system were found.

So they recommended a regen on the DPF, so I have just completed a 50-mile round trip at 3000 rpm to give it a good old Italian tune-up.

Still no change, in fact, it is possibly louder now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As a note, the EGR is blocked off and remapped out.

Best regards,

Dan
