ABS pump

Featured Replies

Abs pump has currently a minor leak, which sometimes leads to a hard brake, can still brake but regardless its an issue, just wondering if that the leak is the issue or if its something else.

Cheers

If there's ANY leak of brake fluid then, to me, that is a major safety issue needing action, especially if it is already causing problems, if that is actually the case, as I don't see how a leak causes a "hard brake" (whatever that means) Unless I'm missing the point, being a dinosaur!

Well the issue is on and off and its a daily, so just have to grizz it unfortunately, and i mean the pedal gets hard to press like the booster is failing, but theres also a leak on the abs module, but dont know if either is 100% the issue.

A hard pedal can indeed be the result of a leaking master cylinder if it is leaking fluid into the servo. The picture seems to ndicate a master cylinder to pedal connection and I wonder if the OP knows the difference as it would be very strange for the ABS pump to leak. This loooks to me to be a failing master cylinder which needs to be changed immediately.

Its been going on for quite while now getting more frequent and yea id get it sorted soon as possible, if i fully knew the issue but it could be the master cylinder hopefully as its a cheap enough option.

It won't be the cheap option if it's the wrong option. This is safety critical so get somebody who knows more than you do to take a look at it.

Currently have an on going chat with my garage hoping they can figure it out.
