Focus mk4.5 (2022) Sync 2.5 to Sync 3 uprade - help needed

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice from anyone who has successfully performed a Sync 3 upgrade on a Focus Mk4.5 (2022 or newer) that came factory-equipped with Sync 2.5.
As far as I'm concerned, the sync 2.5 doesn't have an APIM module that I could just replace, but instead runs on ACM. My car has the MX71-18D804-HF (ACM). There is no standalone APIM module or a 54-pin connector hidden behind the dash. The screen (JX71-18B955-GA) is connected directly to the ACM.

I bought two parts which I thought were gonna be enough, Sync 3 module with navigation 5U5T-14G371-GKC and a new screen JX71-18B955-FD.

Since there is no factory 54-pin APIM plug, I need to bridge the signals from the 32-pin ACM connector to a new 54-pin APIM connector. I haven't been able to find a Plug & Play harness for the Mk4.5 facelift models yet (NaviUpgrade etc. seem to focus on older builds).

Will my current ACM work with the new APIM after de-activating the "Internal APIM" in FORScan, or do I need to swap the ACM as well? And is there even such a thing as de-activating the Internal APIM?

Sorry if my writing is kinda sluggish but I've been trying to solve it on my own for the past 9 hours and I'm tired
