Focus 2015 mk3/DYB rear shock absorber

Featured Replies

Any guidance on how to remove rear shock absorber? Attached picture, a rusty bolt on top seems to be top connection point, but would need to know how to access the other side. Loops on both end of the new part.

Is your car an estate model? The picture doesn't show the shock absorber.

Yes it is estate, the shock absorber is hidden in the chassis view, in an angle. The rusty bolt in top/middle section is the top mount point.

Ah yes, I can see it now after enlarging. You do have the correct part. Only estate shocks have loops at both ends.

There isn't a separate nut shown for the bolt on the parts catalogue. So I think it must be a captive nut welded to the chassis. There may not be any access to the other side.
