alternator issues

Featured Replies

I have replaced my ford focus tdci 1.6 109 hp 2010. The battery light was on and alternator did not charge the battery which is Tongstone 72Ah high quality.I checked power supply connection, connector on the Alternator. I checked battery connections +/_ poles. I checked all the related fuses. Nothing wrong. My battery was dead and I used another secur battery, still the light is on. Is there anybody who knows what else I can do?I will be grateful.

Hi,

SmartCharge wiring is the next thing to check. The small plug on the alternator. The wires often break near the end.

If you unplug that small plug, the alternator should charge at a default 13.5v.

If it still doesn't charge with the plug disconnected then there is a fault with the alternator.
