Focus mk3.5 estate OEM reverse cam parts list

Featured Replies

I've searched through previous reverse cam posts but haven't been able to find which exact part numbers are required to retrofit the OEM reverse camera to a mk3.5 estate. I've found posts about the facelift hatch model, or the non facelift estate, but I don't know if any parts are different in the.facelift estate - especially wiring looms in the estate tailgate, for example.

For example, this post https://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/125974-oem-rear-view-camera/

Is anyone able to help me out with the part numbers required for the camera/handle, tailgate wiring loom etc please?

I have a 2017 1.5tdci titanium. I can't see the grey plug in the rear boot behind the panels, so will need to run a cable down the length of the car, from what I've read. My number on the voltage stabilization module in the drivers footwell ends in AC, so that is as required for the install.

The very late Focus MK3 and all MK3.5 versions use a LINbus controlled camera. The LINbus wire of the rear view camera is directly connected to the BCM. The BCM is the LINbus master and the rear view camera is the LINbus slave. In other words: The BCM controls when the camera image is activated and also controls the (adaptive) parking lines based on steering angle.

To retrofit the rear view camera on a 2017 Focus MK3.5 wagon you will need the following parts:

MK3.5 Estate Rear view camera:
Part number: F1ET 19G490-CC
Finis number: 1873025

MK3.5 Estate boot lid wiring harness:
Part number: F1ET 14D466-BAJ
Finis number: 2211762

MK3.5 Estate Boot lid handle for reverse camera in primer:
Part number: BM51 N43400-BEXWAA
Finis number: 1801900

MK3.5 Estate Camera bracket
Part number: BM51 19H421-AB
Finis number: 1747479

After all abovementioned parts are installed, you will have to add the missing wiring like power, Ground, LINbus and the coaxial video cable with the correct termination. Once all wiring is in place the vehicle configuration needs to be changed to make the camera work. Especially the LINbus initialization to make the BCM communicate with the camera can be challenging.

Wow, thanks so much for the detailed reply!! That's a massive help. I did see a few mentions of people struggling to get things working with the programming side of things even with all the correct parts in place, but i'll make a start searching for the parts and try to get everything together for the wiring too.

Are you able to confirm which version of the main wiring loom, that runs from the front to the back of the car, the F1ET 14D466-BAJ cameta specific tailgate loom plugs directly into? I currently have F1ET 17N400-BAF in my car, but I'm guessing there is a variation of that loom that comes with the 'grey plug' for the camera tailgate loom to plug into?

It may be (possibly) easier to replace that main loom, or find a used one and harvest the required connector and cables, rather than try to find the grey connector part number, correct pin terminals, and cables required to make up the missing part of the loom which runs to the BCM/APIM end.
