ABS issue

Featured Replies

Hi, I've got an 04 Focus estate that's just failed MOT due to ABS dash light on. Replaced both rear wheel sensors as per diagnostic tool report. ABS dash light still on and diagnostic still reporting rear wheel sensor problem. What could be the problem/solution?

Hi,

Both rear sensors failing at the same time would be unusual.

Have you had any other work done in that area? Wheel bearings for example?

Did have brake shoes done 6 months back. Have noticed they are wearing unevenly.

There's a good chance the pick-up rings were left out or damaged when refitting the drums if this is a Mk1.

Did you notice how soon the ABS light came on after that work was done?

Pretty much straight after having them done. Ignored light because it didn't affect driving.

Just spoke to brother who did the brakes. The old pick up rings are in his garden. Good thing he doesn't tidy up. Hopefully they are still usable. Will find out later.

Thanks for your help. :)
