Engine mounts or another issue?

Featured Replies

video

Feel like my 2012 Focus is either running rough, or the engine mounts aren’t playing ball. I happen to have 2 Ecoboost mk3 (sucker for punishment) the first part in the video is the one that seems to run OK. The other is the suspected problem car.

Would anyone be able to advise based on the video?

For a 1.0 EcoBoost both are actually not bad to be honest. These 3-cylinders without a balance shaft usually shake much heavier during idle.

The engine/transmission mounts on these however, are known to wear out prematurely. These are already soft from the factory and become even softer due to the vibrations. I owned a 1.0 EcoBoost for over 8 Years and had to replace all engine/transmission mounts due at about 20.000 Miles.
