Rust on rear arch

Featured Replies

Hello folks.

I have a problem with rust on my rear wheel arch, the back body part that joins onto the wheel arch, the lip there is rusted out.

I don’t have a welder but was wondering if I could repair this with fibreglass filler and spare metal from an old wing as my mot is in a month and I can’t afford the body shop.

I have uploaded a picture of the bit, the body rust would be easy, just the lip (what is the proper name for that bit) is the problem, could I just leave that bit off as it’s falling off nowIMG_1853.png? Thanks for any help.

It looks like someone has painted over rust in the past. It will get worse than that when the MOT tester pokes it.

If you're going to bodge it anyway, just put some duct tape over it.

Not sure like, but it should be fine for a while with mesh and metal filler. It’s definitely crumbling at bits, have to fix it for mot.
