Out of alignment bonnet

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I’ve just come across that my bonnet on my car is misaligned as the gap on the passenger side is bigger than the one on drivers side. Looking at the car history there isn’t any accidents or collisions noted. Is it easy to align the gaps? Sorry I’m not mechanically inclined

It's not that easy to align the bonnet, otherwise Ford would have got it right at the factory. 😀

Have a look at some other Mk4's next time you go to a large car park. If the alignment on those is about the same as yours then it's fine and within tolerance. If yours is noticeably worse then the best option is to ask a body shop to align it for you. It's not technically difficult, but does require two people, plus a bit of trial and error. Can easily make it worse if you don't know what you're doing.
