Headlight Issue - Ford Focus ST (72 plate)

Featured Replies

Hi there :)

I'm a new Focus ST owner and I was wondering if anyone has had this headlight issue before? Was driving home and my headlights were flickering and discovered that part of the headlight cluster inside has become dislodged. Not sure if it's because of the current UK heatwave, or something else...?

My car, Bruce, is out of Ford warranty as he is a late 22 plate, so I don't really know what to do, other than having to get a whole new headlight fitted!

Thanks in advance.

Oh dear. ☹️ That's a lens for one of the LEDs. Only option would be a replacement headlight, either new or used.

You can ask an electronics specialist, or better still a headlight specialist, if they'd attempt to open the light up and glue the lens back on, but I really wouldn't be expecting a yes.

That's shocking. Never seen anything like that, though admittedly I'm new to the word of fancy lighting.

Might still be worth a try at getting some goodwill out of Ford (I know - they don't have any) as that's clearly come apart from within, without any sign of external damage.

Taking a look at the similar lights on mine was one of the reasons I took out an extended warranty though I sincerely hope I don't need to try claiming on it.
