Hi guys,

Looking for some inspiration from you guys! I have been battling with issues with my Galaxy since February through various garages to no avail.

It's a 2.0 190 with the 8F40 box and the issues are as follows.

Completely refuses to start often, turns and stops and can take anything between a few and up to 25 goes to start again, also if S/S kicks in it can refuse to restart too.

Also seems to be hunting in D when on the parking brake too now 🤦‍♂️

Initially thought battery so had it checked and it wasn't great so replaced, still did it. It's been into a Ford service centre for a recall and I got them to run diagnostics on the box while there but they found nothing, changed fuel filter to see if it was fuel contamination causing it, no change. A mate did a leak off test to check injectors, all fine! I got a s/h starter to investigate that but haven't got round to fitting yet, but I think the issues are emanating from the box now.

The car has done 39k but hasn't had a gearbox fluid change, it looks as if it may have overheated the box at some point as I think it has blown some oil out of what looks like a breather on the top of the box leaving residue on the casing.

Anyone come across anything similar to this or can suggest someone knowledgable in the boxes nearish to Hereford. Thanks all in advance!
