Good to see another girl on here lol, well we brought the alloys not long ago and they had been refurb but to a off silver colour so we have re-sprayed them ourselves to keep costs down we will probably keep them like that tbh.

hahaha stoney shhhh he's being nice!! lol and I bought the car as a 22nd birthday present to myself, looking at maybe wrapping the roof in black and just bought some custom dials lenny recommended so will be fitting them when they arrive apart from that I don;t wanna go too major, a friend did say about remapping it but I've heard mixed things about it

Lol well we have to treat ourselves now and again eh! Yeah Steve keeps talking about remapping.. But I'm not overly sure... Meant to make the car quicker? (I'm not that good on car chat ha)

yeah my friend has it on his car, he said it has a lot of benefits like fuel economyand obviously making it quicker, he said its just a box that can be attatched (I dont really know either) but when I said about insurance etc as I like to declare what needs to be decalred he was like you can just take it off but I dunno... think I'll leave the performance as it is for now to be honest.

I don't think (so I've been told) that we get much from purely re mapping petrols. Maybe 10hp? 15?

Regarding remapping, i did mine with a Bluefin remap when i got it last year and it pulls like a train.

It went from 115bhp to an average of 148bhp and no problems at all connected to the remap.

The turbo lag is all but removed and fuel economy has improved a touch too.

You get different stages of mapping and can choose the level you are comfortable with.

The beauty with Bluefin is that you can reset back to factory standard any time you like and remap it again when the mood takes you.

It isn't cheap but by god you get your moneys worth.

But as yours is petrol you won't get as big an improvement as diesel cars (best fuel around---:P)

yeah 1.8 petrol, nah I'm not going..... dunno why I think I'd feel a bit outta place! lol and thanks for that stoney like I said I think I'll leave the performance for a bit and maybe look into it once I'm happy with the lil mods I want doing :D

I have never noticed any more smoke than a non remapped car.

Chipped cars tend to smoke more as all that the chip does is throw more fuel in the system.

Proper remaps keep the fuel\air mix balanced.

Ah okay, ours does give out a lot of smoke when the turbo kicks in, it's been in two garages and they say it's normal but one picked up on something had been tampered with so not sure really what's going on. I'm guessing it's Steves heavy foot because it doesn't do it with me lol
