Ain't It Just Typical

Blooody hell mate thats harsh. Even a lorry cutting me up did less damage and I repaired it myself in the end as well as the extra 5 or so problems caused by the bloke who 'repaired' it initially.

Not being funny though but your new motor just had the Missus and I in stitches. Have you tried fitting the dogs in the back yet lol?

The springer jumped in for a look but he's trained for vehicle search so is used to getting into anything from a smart car to a truck.

The Mali looked in and walked away with a confused look.

The collie peed up the wheel. :D

That pretty much sums it all up really.

Lmao I think what the collie thinks of it is about right to be fair :P

I just find it hilarious how you said 'Hopefully I get something of practical size' after explaining you need something to transport 2 dogs in.. and you end up with That

Still..

Better than a corsa (spit) I suppose

It's quite a laff to drive actually.

I just had to pop to the 24hr Tesco and I gave it a good chuck about.

Hilariously some div in a Corsa (hurl retch) tried to tempt me into a burn off.

Usually in my own car they just flash by with white knuckles and a strange fixed look on their face because they sense that it's no use challenging me so just go for it before I twig on.

I just merrily turned off and left them looking like a bloke who's spent all their money on a girl all night buying them drinks to find in the end it's a bloke in drag.

I suppose nobody expects too much from that car but I'm making it nip along quite nicely.

I'm tempted to try handbraking it around a car park just to see if I can.

I feel your pain, what a heap of poo! That logo on the side says "Keep clear I'm accident prone". I hope you put a disguise on when driving it. :P Only a few more days and you will have a decent car back. I'm now paranoid about parking my car, I think I may put "Police Do Not Cross" tape round it when parked. :)

looks like a deawoo in which case it is a vauxhall corsa im surprised the insurance dont do like for like ill get a focus of some variation should i have an accident it would be hilarious to see that car with the lights and police badges on it

I don't like this thread, it's shattering my illusion that there is nothing and never has been anything faster than a hire/courtesy car! :(

When someone ran into my rear end I was left without my car for almost 3 weeks. When it came to a hire car all I cared about was whether I'd be able to drive it. I explained that as I'm 6'7" and 18.5 stone I don't fit into you average car and I ended up with a new Insignia :/

I appreciate that it was a hire car - however, the lady who dropped it off did say they typically provide much smaller cars considering it was only myself who needed to use it. Either I got lucky or was rather persuasive :)

On a side note - my other half has a Corsa and I can just about move it if required - it's a tight squeeze!

It's amazing how much room you get as a driver of a Focus!

The car is a Chevrolet Aveo so has input from GM and is apparently also basically a Suzuki Swift.

One thing it does do is make me appreciate my own car more.

Disguise is in place, big ginger beard and a pink wig. :D

The Chevy Aveo goes about with about 12 other names. It's also a Chevy Kalos, a Chevy Lova, a Daewoo Kalos, Daewoo Gentra, Pontiac Wave, Suzuki Swift, etc, etc, etc.

My gf actually drives a Chevy Kalos from 2005, so the older style than the Aveo that Clive has. It's not too bad a car for a first car for a girl. It's a 1.4 engine in hers with 92bhp - my Focus Ghia 1.6 is only 100bhp, so it's not too far off it.

Parked up it's about the same size as a Fiesta.

I don't really enjoy driving it - it's a bit strange. Don't know why. The gear stick is really, really long and it just sounds a bit weird. But it's fine for the other half and it doesn't look too pitiful out in the "drive"! And it was cheap as chips.

Gear stick is very long compared to a Focus one, but seems reasonably precise.

I must have the ghia version as it has ABS and aircon, but manual mirrors and steel rims.

The car is a bit of a mongrel but still better than having a Vauxhall badge on it (retch)

you must have the top spec model stoney lol hate gm hate vauxhalls daewoos cheverolets same sxxt with a different wrapper ive always found them to be like those asda trolleys that only have 3 working wheels try as you might its an effort to go round a corner

I'm sure you look lovely in your pink wig, just don't get arrested for soliciting in it. :D

Okay, I better qualify: replace with "girly girl who has no knowledge or interest in cars!"

Hmm, my girlfriend's has electric mirrors/windows and alloys. Hers is "SX" trim, but I have no clue what the trim levels mean for these cars.

I dunno Clive mate really sounds to me like you've found a new love interest. You'll be trading the focus in in no time. Reckon if they did an estate version to fit the dogs in back you'd be sold on it :P

Er... That would be a no.

Anyway, i just got the use of this one for the time being- no Police markings, just the markings on the rear which could be used on any dog vehicle for security companies etc..

White strobes and standard dog carriers in the back rather than the temperature controlled unit my patrol rig has.

Less likely to get keyed or spat on in my area. (yes my area is quite rough).

This was the scene last friday evening when i was dealing with a knife attack outside my own house (photo courtesy of the wife with a panoramic view from the bedroom) I had just got my Springer indoors, my mali was still inside.

Good job my kit is all stored in the vehicle.

Showes how stupid the guy was to assault someone with a knife with that parked outside.

The car in front is the armed response team and yes i know that i'm on yellow lines but my road is so busy i rarely get a chance to park in the bays, marked vehicles are useful for some things i guess.

Oh you sensitive soul. :P

Standing up for the girls does have advantages. :)

It would appear so mate, as i said my area is a tad rough, the lad that got imprisoned for trying to blow up a cafe in Exeter lived in the flats opposite (his mum still does and is a lovely lady), my road is three streets over from the main nightclub area and is never quiet, i suppose i just feel happy surrounded by scum (i couldn't take the quiet life).

;)

I'm watching you Stormin' evilgrin0040.gif

Sounds like my area mate full of chavy scum bags doing wheelies up n down the road on hairdryers all day long.
