JAR897
Ok, So today I went to the Wolverhampton Dealership to test drive the car (had to blag it to the dealer that I was still looking at different options despite the fact that I ordered yesterday!). Anyway, the car stock had been updated and they had two which took my eye. The first was a white Zetec S, with side skirts, city pack (17" 5spokes) and individual leather interior. This is the car I test drove... and I must say it was very nice. However, I am glad I went for Sea Gray as it was a little too 'sporty' compated to the sea gray which has elements of sportyness and executiveness. The test drive went well, after scaring the dealer half way through by joking to him that I got banned for hitting a pedestrian that TOTALLY wasn't my fault I described to him how the car felt natural and smooth to drive. The breaks were soft enough to feel like you had to push down but firm enough to feel shark and responsive. The steering was easy and effortless. I didn't push the car (i.e. go over 3000RPM as it WAS a test drive) but overall a very nice feeling car! Anyway, the second thing was a red Montune version of the car in the showroom. I'm not sure if the engine had actually been upgraded as they wouldn't let me look under the bonet :( (suspiscious?) but it had the exterior pack. Now again it looked nice, but i'm not sure its an option i'd go for? Finally, I thought i'd comment in this thread about my insurance, as I know some of you are getting sick with the number of threads i'm posting lately. My insurance at the moment was £400 for a 1.0 Corsa 2003. However I had an accident and was fearful it was going to bump it up. However because I was on my dad's insurance it counts as his claim not mine, which he and I are happy about as it means i'm scot free! lol. So iv'e taken out my insurance with Admiril.co.uk, under my name, elephant was £30 cheeper but I am going to get 10% discount for the multicar thing later on in the year. The corsa quote is £650 which isn't bad for a 20 year old male with no No Claims Bonus. When I upgrade to the Fiesta in 2 months time the premium goes up to £850, whcih again isn't too bad. Figures with the accident were coming in at £1100 for the Corsa, and £1200 for the fiesta! If I get a years no claims (which you get with admiril every 10 months!) then the premium goes down to £500!!! This is more an informative topic than one looking for responce, but I thought I'd just post my views on here so other people may get some benifit from the information on here? Thanks. MichellefromEssex
Did you test drive the Mountune? what did it look like in the flesh all pimped up? what price are they going to be selling the Mountune for? I think we paid £12,995 (although did get a lot off in discounts, ford ticket and trade in) so adding on the £2k we are paying for the Mountune upgrade it will bring it to £14,995, was it about that? I pay £20.40 a month over 12 months for my insurance (esure) but thats with like 24 years no claims lol. Considering I was paying £77 a month on my 4.5ltr Merc its a big saving for us each month. JAR897
They didn't have a price for the montune... I asked but they just said that you would have to contact montune as its a seperate branch. They would be able to give me figures for buying the car with the montune additions after april 1st some time. The car looked quite nice: it was red and had the stripe down the side with different colour windmirrors. It also had black wheels with a red stripe. It looked ok, but it would look nicer on a white or black.. red was a little 'twee'. As for insurance, i'm pretty happy with the quote I got... When i first tried to get insured (17yr old male) my insurance would have been more than tripple what im paying now. lol. Consuquently I went as a named driver on my dads. Poor old Dad having to suffer an increased premium on his insurance thanks to your accident-----can't say I'd be too happy about it if it were me and I certainly wouldn't appreciate your seemingly cavalier attitude about it. It strikes me that you're very lucky to have parents like that.............................
johnnymac16
red.... ive got a black fiesta, and now a red theatre light interior an red everything, so i think red would go better on my black panther titanium!
DONFRAMAC
Do you have any red LED Bulbs on the theatre-dimming function, as I have problems with these bulbs in the interior light in my Mk 6.5 Zetec Climate, and had to revert to standard tungsten filament 501 W5W 5 watt wedge-type sidelamp bulb? (I know there is a halogen version of the filament bulb, but dimming those leads to short life, as they need to run hot, so that is why I tried the led 5-SMD type wedge bulb to get better brightness from the interior light, but it struggles to switch off, and continues to glimmer-on dimly even after locking the car and the dash shuts down its display.) Can anyone explain the problem with LED Bulbs being incompatible with the theatre-dimming, even after the dimming has finished?

ChrisZetecS
I don't understand why people, as soon as they take delivery of their cars, are seeminly never coming back on this forum or rarely at least. I didnt join this forum until about 8 months after first getting my car, and I've learnt so much from coming on here.
paulworthing
I guess it is chatting to peopel who are also waiting, or to those who have their cars and then once they have taken delivery, they have more fun being in their cars than talking about them . . . . My absence is more to do with the new office layout where other peopel can now see my PC screen and so I am just on here less
ChrisZetecS
My comment wasn't aimed at you btw :P Don't get me wrong id rather jump into the car and take it for a spin, I just like coming on here to see what everyone does to their cars etc and for advice :)

Michael P
Paul - I just like staring at your avatar! I wish I could have got my ZS in squeeze... The only complaint i have with Squeeze is that it always looks quite dull in photos. When you see one on the road they're 100x better!!!
