Hi all i'm a new member from lincolnshire having just bought a 2001 mondeo 2.5 v6 (first ford for a while). had the car a week now and very happy with it (apart from a smell of petrol that ill be looking into over the weekend) and quite suprised how good it is on fuel if driven sensibly. no doubt ill be asking a few question's some more sensible than others. will post a pic once i have her cleaned up

Welcome to the family!

To resolve the petrol smell, I would suggest that you start by checking if there is any form of pollen / cabin air filter, if so replace it.

Otherwise, check the engine block and check the seals around the injectors. Sometimes as these degrade, the fuel vapours leak into the engine bay and enter the air intakes spreading the smell of petrol.
