Anyone under 25 years old would count that as, 'the dark ages' LOL 🤣

I am getting roughly 36mpg around town doing a slow 2 mile trip to work in traffic then close to 50mpg on a motorway drive for 30 miles doing 70ish.

I remember the days of 50mpg on the motorway! Mid-life crisis 2.3 turbo petrol doesn’t quite have the efficiency of the 1.6 lol

On top of that he was driving round uninsured , the insurance company he had paid up front the years insurance turned out was a scam company based in Manchester. No internet in those days.

That scam has caught up with the times. There was a warning on the radio a few months back about scam facebook posts claiming to offer insurance through facebook. Of course they were to be paid upfront.

They radio news pointed out that facebook does not sell insurance.

OMG, exactly what kind of people need to be told that?? 😂

So sad that we live in a world where governments have taken away people's ability to think for themselves. It must be a scammers paradise that you just tell someone in a voice of authority that something is true and they believe it without question.

That's why I always buy my car insurance from eBay and my life insurance from Amazon 😂

The internet now has 20+ years of crap on it. But at least now you can double check that crap rather than believing an advert in the yellow pages. Insurance brokers, they were the pre internet, scam double checkers.

You should really define, 'yellow pages', the young'uns won't have a clue what you're talking about! LOL

Did you watch 'Back in Time for Birmingham' last week?  (BBC2 so don't think it's regional!)  Anyway, there was a guy on there that didn't seem to know about vinyl records, cassette/VHS tapes, and corded phones...like an actual adult!  I've never felt so old!

I did watch it, and felt a smile as they got excited over their new Austin Allegro! The young guy seemed perplexed as he handled a VHS, I still have my BlockBuster membership card in a drawer somewhere 🤣
