Lol, no.

This is on nearly all modern cars afaik, but particularly noticeable on cars equipped with the engine of the year.

Don't make me tap my fingers on the desk waiting for an answer, lol.

Just the engine itself on the new Ecoboost iirc, taps away like a 1920s tap quartet.

It does indeed when ticking over. Now if I knew a single thing about engines I might be able to guess what makes that sound :(
