Remapping 1.0 Ecoboost

Featured Replies

Iv recently purchased 1L ford ecoboost mk3. New to the car but i love it. Could you please be honest and let me know if stage 1 remap would be healthy for the turbo, pistons and engine and if it is ac worth it. Bit sceptical

See this post earlier today.   ---- also please don't multi-post the same question in different threads, thanks.

Good Morning!

Finally, I changed the map, no more ACT for good!

It is ... it is AWESOME! The car finally is normal! Accelerating in 2000-3000rpm range is smoother. Engine works very pleasant, less gently shaking. Driving in a city and calm driving is so nice. When stopped and engine is on, no single shake to be feel.

As I have described, vibrations happen when it is cold, I will have to wait for autumn. One time my car was charging on 14.7V level and was no vibrations, so I have deep hope for no more of this unpleasant effect.

Drawbacks, according to Ford documentations, fuel save from ACT is 6%. Maybe some  DTC and warranty, but my car is not on the warranty any more.

There is also device which allows to swap between the maps. The map is from company rica.nl

When getting a stage 1 remap can it break the turbo ? Since I've had my stage 1 remap I have had to get 3 new turbos ( all under warranty of course ). Not had my car for in total 9 weeks now ..

The garage it's at is saying it's the turbon actuator ( wastgate ).

thanks in advance

I say the turbo failure is potentially being caused by oil starvation. Your 2013 Ecoboost 1.0 is almost due to have the wet belts replaced if they have not already been done. It is quite common that as the wet belts disintegrate bits of the belt material start to clog up the sump oil strainer and also the tiny oil filter that feeds the turbo.

Hi,

If anyone needs any help with insurance for re-mapped vehicles then please feel free to drop me a line.

Regards,

Dan.

Considering a remap from 125 to 140/150 on my little 1L but i cant get it insured at all. Probably wont be able to help me either given ive a claim on my insurance two years ago ... But any help would be amazing!

Also does anyone know how safe it is to remove soft limiter on the 1L? And how safe is it to go to 140/150 if i did do it.
