At some point in the past, the cars had one of the rear panels repainted and they've done a sh1te job. You can feel the metallic flakes in the paint. Wether that be the lack of laqcuer or what! That's all that's making me think twice about spraying it myself. Probably get it done professionally aswell as the rear panel sorted, thinking about it :)

Good plan there to get it done properly. I remember as well that with all the materials, it didn't save a lot of money and I spent a huge amount of time trying to get it done.

Have them primed smooth then hydrodipped carbon print,

This hydrodipping gets coated with clear laquor finish so its as good as paint.

Then removing the existing ones isint a problem when the split as your fitting brand new ones,

Cost around 40 pounds for full set from ford.

Probably get it done all at once, as I've managed to track down some more zetec S bumpers which will need spraying (buying them on payday hopefully).

As for the pillars, never considered getting them hydrodipped. I should've had them done at the same time as the mirros and interior. But now you mention it it sounds a good idea mate. Might have to order a set and have them shipped directly to Rade Customs (my preferred company & I get an existing customer discount :D)

The existing ones come off quite easily as they're only held on with 3m adhesive! Haha :)

The only replacements I can find are £25 each! :(

Had a few hours spare today so I decided to tackle the Heater fan; which has had an irritating squeal since I bought the car. I originally put this down to debris caught in it.

A few weeks ago I checked the mounting location where MOST mk6's have their heater fans only to find my car happens to be the minority to have the heater fan mounted deep within the dash!

First thing I did was move the passenger seat all the way back and recline it so I could have better access.

Then I had a real good explore behind the dash and planned my next couple of moves.. Which involved braying a spanner onto a screwdriver to get some leverage on a Stubborn TORQ screw! God knows what ford were thinking when they decided a small piece of heating ducting had to be fastened up with 500nm of pressure (possibly a slight over exaggeration ;) )

When I Eventually managed to manoeuvre the heater fan out of it's body hole it was the rustiest thing I've ever seen.. But after a good oil up it's running as good as new! One less annoying squeak to tolerate!

Now I've just got to track down the cause of an annoying squeak from the rear of the car when I'm carrying passengers.. Think my springs may be shot :(

And I can't really go for lowering springs due to the road I live on being surrounded by speedbumps

I must say... I was shocked as to how easy it was to remove the fuse of from it's mount!

The wrap in the video is pretty cool. I actually like the colour of your Fiesta Kieran. Most Fietas here are either Red or Silver. I reckon that once you colour code the strips, it will look cool. Maybe an option would be to colour/plastidip the wheels an unusual colour to make the car stand out.

As for the springs, if you can't have it lower due to speedbumps or potholes, consider just sticking with the stock height. Eibach Pro-Kit would only lower it by 30mm all round. Any chance of having a look at a car with that on already to decide whether it would work for you?

Lowerd on some 16" Green Rota alloys would look good

Hassen, the bodywork isn't in the best condition.. So instead of filling and spraying I was going to fil, prep & wrap it :)

The first thing I did when I bought the wheels was look for some Anthracite grey Plastidip. But there's only one importer in the UK and they don't stock it in an aerosol. Smallest order they do in a tin is 100GBP

Haven't really thought about other colours though!! Ill have to have a play in photoshop!

Alloys need a refurb before summer anyway

As much as I want to lower it I'd struggle to get away with 20mm with the height of the speed bumps on my road. It's infuriating that they're getting away with them being so high!

Air would solve all of my problems though ;)

Just been out and fitted my Radio handbrake bypass relay.

Watched 10mins of a few films in the car and I've gotta say.. The sound is amazing!

I've also installed a custom background which I'll post a picture of in a sec :)

Can you email me that image please kieran, ive been trying to change the baxkground via images download to usb but none of them are in that format

I'll do a quick walkthrough guide tonight, I struggled if I'm honest but once you manage it once it's easy as can be !

The image is simply a JPEG file, I'll send you it later Lenny as it's on my PC and I'm on my phone :)

I'm going to have a play around with different formats at somepoint to try get a slightly higher quality

First of all; You need to choose your image and save it to a USB (USB should be formatted as FAT32. The image should be a JPEG (testing .png within the next few days.. Busy at work)

2.) Insert the USB into the USB connection on the headunit. (Ideally with the HU turned on although not necessary)

3.) (if you use a handbrake Bypass relay skip this step) If the green wire coming from the radio is connected to your handbrake then put on your handbrake. If it isn t connected to anything then remove the radio and tap GREEN wire twice on a ground, the second time secure it so it stays grounded. This SHOULD trick your headunit into thinking the handbrake is on.

4. ) If the headunit hasn't already done so, select the USB source. Once the HU has loaded the device press 'Media' and select 'Photos'. The headunit should automatically discover any images on the storage device. Scroll through the images until you find the one you want to use as your background.

5.)Once on your selected image, tap 'Save'. A prompt should appear asking if you're sure. Press 'Yes'.

6.)Once the image has finished saving (Can take a while) go back to your home screen. Press 'Theme' then go to 'Background'. Slide to the left and press the image that shows some cartoon flowers. If this option is not available, unapply and reapply your hanbrake

7.)You're done!

Update. Noise at the rear is actually being caused by either the shock absorbers or rubber bushes.

If it turns out to be the bushes then I'll be fitting poly bushes at the rear and working my way forward through out the year! (£61 including p&p)

I've also placed an order for some "blow & glow" fuses. When they glow, and LED inside them lights up! Great idea! I'll be using one of them as a replacement for the passenger side of my heated windscreen as I found that to have failed last week :(

Ordered through camskill who sent straight from the supplier.. Arrived within 2 days!

Bushes are for the rear subframe. The advantage over the old ones in this case is that they're actually intact! Haha

They're also made out of much better materials and will outlast the car. For £10 more than ford parts; why not? :)

Polyurethane bushes don't age like rubber ones, frost doesn't crack them and they have less flex.
