laumk7
When I bought my current car, I bought it with gap insurance, the new car is going to be the same, it's not because of me it's because of other drivers I don't trust. Anyway, my dealership have told me that as I've had my policy less than 12 months, I can get a refund on it or something? I've been through all the (photocopied!) paperwork and I can't for the life of me find anything on this, let alone any telephone number to call - the policy is with Bristol street motors, I assume I can just call their hq? I wondered / hoped someone had been in this position before and knew what to do? It's starting to get close to the time I collect my new car now, so I want to give the notice period for cancelling the old policy which I want to run until the day I collect the new car. It's not bsm I'm buying the new car from btw Sent from my iPad using Ford OC
alexp999
It really depends on the terms of the policy. I use ALA, and get free transfers to new cars. They just work out a pro-rated amount and take that off the cost of a new policy. I would consider buying GAP online, dealers are an absolute rip-off. laumk7
Thanks Alex, I gave them a call anyway and was told to phone up on the date I transfer to the new car and they'll give me a part refund. How much I don't know though, they don't need any notice period Sent from my iPad using Ford OC
