Mk1 Focus Gremlins. Please Help.

I've got a 2001 Mk1 Focus ESP. It has developed a few gremlins that is starting to really annoy. For about 5 years every now and then it will have issues with starting. This hasn't been a major issue because all I've had to do is wait a few minutes then try to start it and it normally fires up straight away.

A few days ago it seemed to get a little bit more serious. When out on a 5 minute run down the road i noticed that the ESP light was permanently on and I was unable to switch it off. I also found that the rear window wiper would not function. It will fire out water but it wont actually wipe the screen over. On the short drive home I found that the front and back wipers came on of their own free will and the front and rear screen heaters were on and unable to be switched off. This issue has now vanished and it is back to the traction control being permanently off.

Please if there is anyone who can help me with this then I would be eternally grateful.

I have checked to make sure the battery terminals are nice and tight on the battery and there isn't any issue there.
