I found something interesting about insurance, apparently AXA don't consider a stainless stell exhaust to be a significant mod. I got another online quote and answered yes to "does the car have any modifications?", and it then asked if there are any modifications not in a list including things like trackers, parking sensors, and for some reason a stainless steel exhaust.

So it would only add about £13 to my premium :). I might have to call them to confirm this, because I was expecting it to cost a fair bit more like any engine mod would. Does anyone know why they don't seem to be bothered about changing the exhaust? I know it probably won't make any noticeable difference to the power, but surely a full exhaust system can add as much power as a remap or air intake. Also a new exhaust could (and should) make the car sound different, possibly making the driver act more like a boy racer lol.

Had my blast and minimal increase in torque at low revs without the map. mTune getting loaded now :)

The mountune MR165 is fantastic, absolutely amazing, like night and day :)

That 2nd gear rush you get will be quite addictive.

Just need to hide the recipient now or the wife will kill me.

I'd like to see how it compares to a standard ST in straight line speed. Mountune claim 0-60 in 7.2s which is only 0.3s more than the official time for the ST, but I doubt it's that close. Of course that could just be down to the fact that the 1.0L can get to 60 in 2nd.

What difference have you noticed sound wise since you did the upgrade? Is the turbo louder or more induction noise?

The induction on its own has given more waste gate noise. Also get a nice bit of engine roar at full throttle. Don't hear the turbo whoosh much but that maybe because the cars still new.

Your right mate. It's louder than standard but quieter than an open cone.

It's seems that 1st is definitely removed but 2nd seems the same with more oooomph :)

I haven't been in the car since last week. So you'll all have to be patient :p
