Mountune

Am I being stupid, or is it just cheaper to buy all the individual parts of the 165 upgrade kit (adds up to £914 plus VAT), rather than the kit itself (£1,165 plus VAT).. or am I missing something obvious??

  • Well the wife is a bit suspicious now. I frightened the Willys out of here :d The mountune MR165 is fantastic, absolutely amazing, like night and day :) That 2nd gear rush you get will be quite addi

  • It was always going to go down, adding the extra power just makes you want to use it, and why not.

Yes you are missing the Mtune hanset, you've just added £15 which is the cost of adding the map to the a previously bought handset.

It should work out cheaper to buy the kit than seperatley.

And the handset.

I've work out all the kit with VAT is £1410.06 so cheaper to buy separately.

But the kit is £1399inc vat

If you add all the parts seperately to the cart it discounts some parts more and it comes to £1401.83

Looks like the MR230 isn't on the site yet unless I missed it, and more importantly for me the exhaust by itself. Hopefully it'll be on there soon.

I think I'm going to be tempted to keep adding bits that don't affect the warranty lol.

ye sure because there is 3 options and the third one is the MR165

which is £374.17 before vat and this is the third option
Customers running all the required MR165 hardware but using standard software, requiring an mTune with MR165 calibration

I see what I did wrong, but still got something a little different.. including VAT and postage, buying the bits and pieces came to £1405.. Buying the new "kit" cost £1424! It's ridiculous that there's no proper discount. All too expensive for me, and no warranty kills it.

Looks like they've calculated the shipping wrong for buying it seperately (£8 seperately or £24 as the kit)

Phil, (or other St owners) who do you use for insurance?

As I'm doing quotes with the exhaust and its boosting the price up by £190.

Thought it would be cheaper.

That's a thing of beauty :). I'm so tempted to just put it on my credit card lol, but just heard at work the other day that there might be some redundancies coming up so need to be careful with spending til I know my job's safe lol. If not for that I'd probably be pre-ordering it right now.

AXA, I'll give them a call at some point and see what the exhaust would add.

If you make a note on the order if ordering on line, they will let you pick it up. They will let you know when it's ready and refund the postage when you get there.

They might let you order over the phone too.

The had the option to pick up when the store was updated but dropped it at xmas because people were selecting pickup even though they lived hundreds of miles away.

My local Ford dealer is also a Mountune dealer (they did my MP215 upgrade) so I might ask if I can order any Mountune parts through them. That might be something you guys could do if you have a Mountune dealer nearby.

Never thought of that Phil. Still need to speak to them for that all important loyalty discount ;)

You get loyalty points with Mountune £450 on the exhaust is £20ish,

If you only need the Mtune postage is only going be a few quid, also they might have offers over Easter like last year.

Unless it's a pro dealer (Dinnages isn't) they might not be able to order anything other than MP kits as they will have ford part numbers.

Yeah my local dealer isn't and cant get stuff in but there is a pro dealer a few miles down the road in Eastbourne.

As for mountune points how do you get them? Ive purchased stuff from them over the phone but never got point.

Mine isn't a pro dealer either, but if I'm getting the exhaust I'll probably get them to fit it for me anyway.

Birchwood. To save time I'd order direct or if you did want to collect go to HQ, only trouble with that is you end up in "The room of doom" and you spend more. Lol.

It's when you order online, they started when the store was updated, just have to sign up.

5 points per pound. £1 for 100points.

Misses bought me the spoiler extensions but didn't use my account, was happy with the present not happy about missing the points lol

interesting. ive spent about £760 since last April so I wonder if they give me any points ;)

760 x 5 = 3800 points / 100 = 38 Quid off :driving:
