I have read a number of posts regarding the Aux socket but none appear to refer to my problem. When I select Aux all the information from my ipod loads. I can select a playlist and a song from the playlist. The display indicates that the song is playing but there is no sound. If I pull out the audio plug at the ipod end and reinsert it I then have sound. I can turn off the engine and turn on again it still works but if I exit the car and lock it I have to go through to procedure of removing the audio plug to get it working again. Is this normal? Any suggestions appreciated.

    I have that same problem it only ever worked with my iPhone 4 any later iPhones seem to give that issue for me I'm a bit annoyed that I need usb and aux cable as should work off only usb like most other manufacturers

    Just as an add on the audio jack has to be removed at the ipod end. Removing the jack at the car end has no effect.
